There are countless situations in which a woman may say no, and just as many in which she may say yes – even when reflecting privately, weighing the pros and cons of a decision.

Two women are depicted in the painting, yet the two figures can also be interpreted as alter egos of the same person, responding to two different situations.

The categorical black and white of “no,” softened by an intricate raised floral pattern, contrasts with the warm, sensual colours of “yes,” which are likewise enhanced by a rich floral motif.

The two female figures, created in relief, stand back to back, each looking resolutely toward the respective exclamation marks made of cold porcelain that express their stance without appeal.

The raised details of the painting are highlighted by subtle metallic nuances, creating an intriguing play of light: platinum for the black-and-white elements, and gold for the orange and red tones that evoke the first two chakras.
